happy homemaker monday – 18/08/2014

18 August 2014 by Naomi 2 Comments

Happy Monday!

Good evening lovelies! I am a bit late getting this up today, but it’s an improvement on last week when I missed it altogether! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead 🙂

I join in with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for this, so do go and say hi!

Breakfast time… what is on the plate this morning:::

It was a large cup of tea with a simple bowl of cereal this morning.

On today’s to-do list:::

Laundry!!
Clean the kitchen counters & floor
Make a menu plan to clear out the freezer – it is in serious need of defrosting!
Continue making plans for Emma’s schooling.
Have fun playing with my little munchkin!!
Crochet

Currently reading:::

My Bible and Is It Just Me? by Miranda Hart (her autobiography I’ve borrowed from a friend, such fun!)

On the tv today:::

Emma watched Happy Feet while I was sorting out dinner, I’m tossing up watching the new episode of New Tricks tonight or Horizon: Should I Eat Meat? – I’ll prob go for the latter and catch up on New Tricks with the hubby later.

The weather outside is:::

Cooler!!! It has been sunny mostly with a break for rain around 4ish…. of course now its more or less dark (yay shorter days = autumn) and it is always windy here.

On the menu this week:::

Haven’t got to this yet today… will hopefully get to it before bedtime?!

If I have a few minutes to myself,  I will:::

Crochet! I have a tin cover on the hook currently, but also need to work on sandals, christmas things, a cushion cover, giraffes and a tea cosy!

In the garden:::

A poor, neglected, sorry sight, completely overrun by the neighbours cats who insist on using it as a giant litterbox :'( I swear if we are still living here come next spring the garden will be my top priority.

Favourite photo from the camera:::

Praying for:::

Continuing to pray for Vince’s work situation at the moment – that we would hear something soon, wisdom for Emma’s future schooling, and for continued peace in our current season of unknowns. For many friends and family for many different reasons. For the fallen world we live in.

Bible verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment:::

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
And we
boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:1-4 NIV

happy homemaker monday – 28/07/14

28 July 2014 by Naomi 2 Comments

Happy Monday!

Good morning lovelies! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead 🙂 I woke this morning and didn’t feel like I was melting so I’m in a pretty good place right now!

It is Monday so time for a HHM post I think! I join in with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for this, so do go and say hi!

Breakfast time… what is on the plate this morning:::

A large cup of tea… but it’s PG Tips with sugar because we are out of Earl Grey and honey! 🙁 Off to the shop soon though! Simple buttered toast for brekkie.

On today’s to-do list:::

Balance our weeks budget
Clean the kitchen
Order this weeks groceries
Go to the shop for a few essentials
Yarn order
Finish tweaking a new pattern (!)
Wait for our 3rd visit from Steve the plumber in as many weeks… hopefully our washing machine will really be fixed this time!

Currently reading:::

My Bible and Dig Deeper by Nigel Beynon & Andrew Sach

On the tv today:::

Hmmm… Cbeebies for a little bit this morning…. I will probably watch something tonight while Vince is at work and I’m crocheting but I don’t know what!

The weather outside is:::

Cooler!!! It is a little cloudier, a little breezier and I love it. I mean I’m still sat here typing this in shorts but maybe the heatwave has broken for now?

On the menu this week:::

Monday – Roasted Tomato Pasta
Tuesday – Basil Beef Meatballs & Spaghetti
Wednesday – Mushroom Stir Fry
Thursday – Chicken Salad
Friday – Pizza
Saturday – Beef Curry
Sunday – Leftovers

If I have a few minutes to myself,  I will:::

Crochet! Or rather organise what I need/want to crochet or sew between now and December 🙂

In the garden:::

Our back garden is an out of control wilderness of weeds at the moment but maybe this week Vince will try and beat it back into submission again! My lovely pink geraniums in the front garden are gorgeous though!

Favourite photo from the camera:::

Tiny best friends and a new sofa! <3 10519496_10153097799646953_8810595479218825298_n

Praying for:::

Vince’s work situation at the moment, guidance over Emma’s future schooling, and for continued peace in our current season of unknowns. Without sharing specifics I am also praying for many friends and family 🙂

Bible verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment:::

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 NIV

happy homemaker monday – 07/07/2014

7 July 2014 by Naomi 4 Comments

Happy Monday! 🙂

I’m back again to link up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. As I have managed to go a week without blogging again… One of these days I’ll get myself organised into a good routine of posting! So here is the outlook for our week ahead…

As I look outside my window::

Cloudy blue skies and sunshine, but judging by the plants in my front garden it is pretty windy out there… but then it is aways pretty windy where we live! Warm enough for me though 🙂

Right now I am::

Sitting on the sofa typing this post up, letting Emma enjoy her bit of tv for the day (she wanted to watch Ice Age 3).

Thinking and Pondering::

About the things I need to try and get done before Vince leaves for work at lunch time… what we are going to have for lunch… what Emma’s afternoon craft activity will be today…

On my bedside table::

My bible, glasses, phone charger and a box of tissues.

On my TV this week::

Erm… not much actually. Vince and I are catching up with Arrow sporadically on the laptop but that is about it.

Listening to::

Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros, Hillsong United, Nursery Rhymes (lol)

On the menu this week::

Monday – Tuna Pasta Bake
Tuesday – Chicken & Mushroom Pie w/ Spinach Salad
Wednesday – Couscous with Prawns and Roasted Mediterranean Vegetables
Thursday – Stir Fry
Friday – Plaice, Quinoa, Veg
Saturday – Mini Roast
Sunday – Church BBQ

On my to do list today::

Quiet Time
Laundry
Washing Up
Post some birthday cards
Crochet
Animal themed craft with Emma

Happening this week::

Tues – Family walk and picnic in the country (weather permitting)
Weds – Our last Christianity Explored meeting (it was postponed 2 weeks ago due to illness)
Thurs – Mum’s Bible study group (I hope but chickenpox is going around so it’s all a bit up in the air)
Sun – Church BBQ

A nice quiet week really 🙂

What I am creating::

Ignoring all unfinished projects I am midway through crocheting something new… but it is a surprise so I will share when it is complete and revealed 🙂

My simple pleasure::

A good cup of Earl Grey tea with milk and honey… preferably made by the hubs 🙂

Looking around the house::

Well… it all needs a bit of a pick up… there just seems to be toys – or bits of toys – everywhere at the moment. A good sort out is needed, will probably be added to todays list of things to be done.

From the camera::

(cousins and their daddies <3 )

Bible verse, Devotional::

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9 NIV
