‘Pooh Country’

22 April 2014 by Naomi 4 Comments

Hello lovelies!

I trust that you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! We enjoyed ours, it was low key, peaceful and joyful!

I actually want to share some photos with you today from before Easter.

Last Wednesday we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary ๐Ÿ™‚ As it’s not always easy for Vince and I to arrange 1-1 time together we planned on having a family day out.

Emma is currently in the midst of a deep passion for all things Winnie the Pooh so we decided to visit ‘Pooh Country’! (And if we’re being honest Vince and I are fans of the little bear and his friends too!)

‘Pooh Country’ means Hartfield in East Sussex, the place where A.A. Milne wrote his stories and the surrounding countryside that inspired various ‘Pooh Places’.

We started out our day at Pooh Corner, which I completely neglected to take a picture of ๐Ÿ™ but do check out their website! It’s a lovely old house that is packed to the rafters (NOT an exaggeration!) with Winnie the pooh related goodness.

After a quick look around we picked up a map and set out on our ‘expotition’ to find Pooh Bridge.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. We literally couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for a walk.

We stopped for a picnic in a meadow field and I could have stayed forever just drinking in the landscape.

I love living by the sea but this sort of country view will always be my favourite, especially in the spring.

Happily we stumbled on some bluebells which I thought I would miss this year, not having any bluebell woods easily accessible to us without a car.

Someone was also very excited to stumble upon ‘Piglits House’! Sadly he wasn’t home when she knocked!

By the time we had walked back to Pooh Corner Emma was finally worn out (after walking the best part of 4 miles, my little star!) and was sound asleep in the pushchair. So Vince and I enjoyed a quiet and delicious cream tea – with honey of course!

It was such a lovely day and the perfect way to celebrate being married for 3 years to best man I know. A blessed day together as a family, a family that couldn’t possibly be without that lovely man of mine <3

I love you Mr Wade, and I thank God each day that I am blessed to be your wife.

On the coast…

2 April 2014 by Naomi 3 Comments

Wasn’t Tuesday just gorgeous in the south east? We popped into town for a few errands and found ourselves whiling away the hours on the seafront. Bliss.

Considering we live close enough to the sea to view it from our bedroom window we spend shockingly little time on the beach. I mean virtually none at all. Crazy, huh?

Oh and all this pollution and saharan desert sand storm that was supposed to be covering the south coast…. Well I can’t say we noticed it!

So here are some photo’s I snapped on my phone…

a much better week….. mostly!

6 February 2014 by Naomi 4 Comments

Well, we are pretty much one week into February (already?!)ย and thankfully I think we are all feeling much better for it in our neck of the woods.

We have had some negatives this week:-

  • I’ve had a headache almost every day to accompany my stuffy nose, I’m pretty sure it’s my allergies acting up.
  • Myself and Emma still haven’t managed to get rid of our coughs from our original colds at the start of Jan, but they are much improved mercifully.
  • Biggest negative of this week has to be our car though. We popped it in the garage for a full service to find it needs more work doing than we can easily afford and long story short by the end of March we will be adjusting our lifestyle to be without a car for a number of months while saving for a new one.

But mostly the days have been good, homely, family oriented days. Full of cosy, happy, lovely things. So here is some of what has made me smile this week…

::: Starting the 3rd row of my crochet mood blanket. Loving it’s colourfulness and I am warming to my edging colour at last!

Emmas car::: The day our car went to pot, we took Emma out in her car instead. She is just too cute in her little VW.

park feb 14::: A family trip to the play park, the windiest park ever. It is on top of the hill on which we live, over looking the sea front. With the current weather in the UK, it was…. refreshing!

rosy hand::: Amusing myself one evening with little rosy flowers. I have a lovely frivolous decorative hooky plan brewing for these ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_20140206_154626::: Fiddling with and tweaking some little boy bow ties, soon to be stocked in my shop.

Yes, I have a much better more positive feeling about February. Thank the Lord!

I hope your February has started well and you are not being too badly affected by the crazy weather!

House Keeping Notes
As you may have noticed I have updated the look of the blog (thanks to my dear hubby’s design work) and will be tweaking things over the next week, so I apologise if you stop by and things are looking a bit wonky. I have updated the navigation bar at the top, Little Kitchen has been much neglected and so removed and encompassed under Lovely Little Home. I have also given my crochet related posts a dedicated space and link at the top under Lovely Little Crochet.
I am also about to update my shop and give it much more time and attention but I’ll talk more about that another time.
