instadecember

30 December 2012 by Naomi Leave a Comment

As December rushed me by I didn’t pick up my camera much, if at all, but I did always have my phone nearby and managed to grab the odd photo here and there. So here are some instagram snaps to sum up our December 2012!

instadecfood

We had lots (and lots) of yummy home baked treats this month. Some were for birthday celebrations, others christmas gatherings and a few just for my hungry hubby! I’ve loved being able to spend so much time in the kitchen this month, it’s felt lovely being able to feed my extended family festive food. All of our celebrations seem to have been centred around food and I’m so grateful that much of it has been able to come from my own lovely little kitchen!

instaadvent

I made Emma an advent calendar this year that hopefully she will enjoy for years to come and doesn’t involve chocolate!!! These are the snaps of the first week of advent, before it is taken down I will be sure to get a good photo of the completed calendar for you all!

As hectic as this month has felt and as quickly as it has flown by I have thoroughly enjoyed it, it has been a wonderful end to the year and I have felt truly blessed.

I am now ready to wave goodbye to the year, pack away the decorations and get back to normal. I find I am missing our everyday routine! So come the first of January we will be un-decking our halls and welcoming in the freshness of the new year quite happily 🙂

I hope you all have a lovely New Years Eve tomorrow, however you may be spending it. I look forward to seeing you all in 2013!

a courgette conundrum & a cake

8 August 2012 by Naomi 3 Comments

I have a glut! I’m really quite pleased about this, I wasn’t sure I’d be able keep the plants alive let alone have them so fruitful but here we are! I have courgettes coming out of my ears!

To be exact I currently have 11 on my kitchen counter and this morning counted at least another 15 on the way.

All this from just two plants!!!

So as you might imagine we have been eating courgettes with everything.

Rhubarb & Almond Loaf Cake

4 April 2012 by Naomi 2 Comments

A few days ago you may recall I wrote about my love affair with rhubarb and mentioned this cake. Well, here it is!

This is a beautiful moist loaf cake that goes down very well with a cup of tea. Better than that it is incredibly easy to put together, always a plus in my books.
