Last week we took our first holiday together as a family of three! We took a short 3 night camping trip not too far from home, and it was blissful.
A lovely little much needed break away from our everyday life and routines. Also a way of celebrating 5 years since Vince and I had our first date!
This morning after seeing Vince off to work, Emma and I headed out to the park before the day got to hot to be enjoyable. We spent an lovely hour or so playing on the slide and swings, walking through the trees and searching for ducks & squirrels.
By this point it was only 10.15am and it was already uncomfortably hot and humid, the sun had come out and I was acutely aware that Emma didn’t have a hat on and her head was getting pink under her hair so we headed home.
That was barely 3 hours ago but in the last 60 minutes the clouds rolled in, we’ve had thunder & lightning and such a huge heavy downpour of rain that my back garden patio is completely under water… and it’s threatening to invade my kitchen!
This weather is mad!

Vince’s time off from work is over. How very sad.
I’ve gotten very used to having him around all the time, so has Emma. I think when tomorrow comes I might have a little girl who misses her daddy a lot 🙁 I know he’s not particularly looking forward to going back to work either, but we do appreciate how hard he works for us and I try to make sure he knows that 🙂
That said, we have been able to enjoy another lovely week!
