Things We Do

a simple happy holiday

29 December 2013 by Naomi 1 Comment

This year was our first christmas at home as just our little family of 3 and it was just wonderful. We have spent the last few happy days visiting with family who live a bit further afield and now Vince has returned to work. So I thought I would share a few photos snapped over Christmas…

me & emma xmas eve::: Christmas pyjamas on Christmas Eve!

christmas morning::: The tree on christmas day morning!

christmas dinner::: Our simple christmas dinner (there is a roast duck hidden on that plate somewhere!!!)

toy takeover::: The dining room being slowly taken over by my little girls new toys! (Christmas and birthday!)

IMG_20131228_220803::: Enough relaxing down time to finish off my random granny stripe draught excluder 🙂

Very simple, very cosy, extremely happy…. not enough photos of the hubby!!!

I hope you all had a very happy holiday too!

train fun

13 December 2013 by Naomi 1 Comment

Today the 3 of us took a trip out to Canterbury for the fun of it. In spite of the pretty darn miserable, wet weather, we had a nice, easy day which broke the hectic pace of December.

We took the train up to the city as Emma enjoys train journeys and I enjoy not having to drive and pay parking charges!

Actually I think it would be fair to say that Emma loves train journeys and the travelling portion of the day was her highlight.

long days

12 December 2013 by Naomi 2 Comments

I’ve not long been home this evening (its 11pm). I spend most Thursdays up at my brothers looking after my nephew, and Emma of course! It can be tiring just having two under 2s to chase after, but really what makes it a long day is the drive, particularly the 90 minute drive home in the dark, especially tonight through the thick fog.

I am thankful to be able to spend so much time with my nephew though, and even more grateful that Emma and Isaac are able to grow up together despite how far apart we actually live.

But now I am home and I have collapsed on the sofa with Vincent and the worlds best cup of tea. Which if you are interested is a milky Earl Grey with a teaspoon of honey made by my husband (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!).

It has been a long day but it is worth it to see my two little smilers and for this moment of relaxation with my hubby before going to bed.

Night all!
