Today was a rare day of truly no plans, no errands to run, no chores (that were being acknowledged…), a little play date first thing but it was just the 3 of us (plus bump of course!) by 10.30am.
The weather was grim this morning and we were all tired after a night of being disturbed by the howling winds, so we settled down on one sofa for some Disney movies and a cosy day at home.
By lunch time the rain had stopped and I needed to get out of the house for some fresh air and (gentle 😉 ) exercise. We got dressed up ready to take on the wind and chill, and after we had waited out a major tantrum over suitable attire from the little Miss, we headed to the Fire Hills. I’m pretty sure Emma being 3 now is harder work for us all than being 2 ever was, it is a… dramatic age!
The walk was much needed and appreciated by all I think. Wonderful views across to Dungeness, lots of friendly people walking their dogs, plenty of mud and puddles for little Miss and an opportunity to walk linking arms with my husband. It has been a while since we have all walked anywhere leisurely enough or safe enough for Emma to just run freely ahead. I have missed walking and talking with Vince in that relaxed, not-at-home way that is just different somehow. I know it is going to be more important than ever to savour those moments when this baby boy of ours is born. We have an extremely blessed and happy marriage but I know it will take prayer and work from both of us to keep it that way, I hope never to be complacent about our relationship.
(I feel I should mention she did have her hair back and earwarmers but took it all off… hence the cavegirl hairdo!)
Whilst walking the hills I became slightly obsessed with sky and the clouds as the sun started to set… and consequently took too many photos. But it was so gorgeous, I just love horizon landscapes and skyscapes where we live…. and in general!
Ahhh that walk made me feel just so much better and less tired than I had before we went. Refreshed and invigorated, as much as I can be at 24 weeks at any rate… walking in the countryside is definitely one of my ‘happy places’!
What do you most like to do when you get that cooped up feeling? I’d love you to share it with us here 🙂

Ah, sounds like a perfect day! 🙂 (Relaxed) time with family, a nice walk in nature…. Hope the pregnancy is still going well! <3
The pregnancy is still going very well, thankfully! Only 15 weeks left now! Thanks for asking Alyss 🙂
