…has been special.
It was our last as a family of three and Emma’s last birthday and christmas as an only child! There will be a little baby brother crawling around our house this time next year 🙂
It was also special as we hosted Christmas for the first time instead of going it alone or visiting with others. We invited my wonderful Nan to come and stay with us a few days and it was just lovely having her here!
This December has felt busy.
I’m not really sure if we have been more busy than previous years or if it is just pregnancy tiredness making me feel that way. My best guess is that both are true. But I am so grateful to have been busy with fun, family and friends, and I am of course grateful for the little life I am growing!! Still, looking forward to a slightly slower pace in the New Year.
This December has been fast.
I mean really fast. I think this also contributes to that busy feeling, one minute I was in November, then it was Emma’s birthday, then it was Christmas and now it is practically 2015 and I feel like I just blinked it by. A blur I tell you.
This December has been creative.
Despite this poor little blog having so little to show for it, I have been crocheting away this month. Although I have been sticking to small, quick projects of my own choosing (and have for the time being stopped all commission work) my inspiration/motivation is back! I will be taking some *proper* photos of my pieces in the new year and promise to share them here… at the moment I scarcely remember to whip my phone out before I’ve given the item away!
This December has been traditional.
On that same note, I have not taken more than a handful of photos this month despite all of the big occasions. My hands are usually too preoccupied with something else to manage a camera into the mix and I was a little sad about this in a way. But then I looked back to this date last year and found this post about our festivities in 2013… and I was strangely pleased with how familiar it all looked and sounded. I love that our Christmas and way of celebrating it is already becoming full of our own lovely little family traditions. (It has also reminded me of what I really liked about blogging in the first place – a place of memories to look back on!)
I hope you have all had a lovely month and enjoyed your Christmas celebrations! I will pop back in tomorrow for an end of year blog post round up of some sort 🙂
