Guess what!?!
We are so excited to announce that we are expecting a new little addition to our family! It is a huge blessing that has truly been prayed for and I am so thankful for this new little life. We will be 12 weeks along this week and are expecting to welcome Baby Wade #2 at the very end of April (or quite possibly early May) next year. We will be finding out the gender this time so you may expect a ‘Pink or Blue’ reveal some time near christmas!
By way of an explanation as to why I have hardly been around this last 5 or 6 weeks (and why huge technical problems went by undealt with… sorry!)…. well that was more or less it. Ha!
As utterly over-the-moon I am to at last be pregnant again, the truth is, sometimes pregnancy sucks.
There I said it.
Sometimes it is overwhelmingly hard, completely takes over your life and ability to function as a mother/wife/human being and you spend hours at a time wondering if you will ever feel vaguely normal again.
So in the past 5 weeks I have had numerous doctor appointments, midwife appointments, ultrasound scans thanks to a diagnosis of hyperemisis gravidarum, and an admission to hospital to be put on a drip for severe dehydration.
In the words of Miranda Hart, such fun!
It has been a long month and at times I have struggled to cope and probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for my faith in the Lord and my truly incredible family and friends. All that said I know I haven’t suffered half as much as some women do and I know that no matter what has been or may yet come my way in this pregnancy in around 29 weeks time it will all have been completely worthwhile.
As for right now, I am still taking anti-sickness medication but I am most days feeling much better and more like my usual self and our baby is healthy and as I saw this afternoon wriggling around in there with a wonderful sounding heartbeat. Even better we get to see baby again next week as well… so there are some perks to things not always running smoothly!
So I am back to mothering, crocheting, cooking and all the other things I enjoy but couldn’t face for the last few weeks and hopefully you will see a lot more of me around here again!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! So happy for you guys!
Thankyou so much Alyss 🙂 xx
Congrats!!! I crochet a lot, and I made a pair of baby sandals for my daughters friend baby shower, I visited your site and fell in complete love with the purple giraffe, with the patchwork, would love the pattern??!!??!! Please send to stephdreyer16@gmail.com. Please
Hi Stephanie, Thank you! The giraffe is a pattern called Jedi the Curious Giraffe by Heidi Bears. You can find her designs on ravelry or her website, she has lots of different animal designs well worth a look! xx
Congratulations to you & your family! I hope your pregnancy gets easier sooner than later! I understand 100%, pregnancy isn’t always “glowing”, is it?
Thankyou Carla! Haha no, I think “glowing” is seriously oversold! xx
Oh Naomi, I am SO SO excited for you, I have the biggest smile on my face. What wonderful news.
Thank you Sandra!!! xx
I too had Hyperemesis Gravidarum years ago. That was intense and extremely scary. I am so glad that you made it through with family & friends. And I am so glad that you are crocheting again, because your little baby sandals are the cutest things!
Hi Phoenix, Thank you so much! HG is such an intense illness, and yet it seems almost unheard of and not talked about… (unless of course it is the Duchess of Cambridge! 😉 ) Thanks for visiting 🙂 xx
