A few days back I sat down and managed to start and finish a whole project in a few hours. This never happens!
I was in need of a new pair of slippers for around the house (I simply can’t have bare feet on our freezing floors!) so I treated myself to some nice new ‘me’ yarn with some christmas gift money I had.
It is Drops Eskimo in blue/purple mix. I think it is a yummy yarn and I’m dying to felt with it!
The pattern is one of Garnstudios many freebies with a couple of very minor alterations. You can find the pattern I used here. It is wonderfully simple and super quick to whip up a pair.
They are also really comfortable, much more so than my previous granny square slippers 🙂 Winning all round!
I suppose the only slight downfall is that they can be a bit slip-slidey on our hardwood floors, if I’m not being careful and dashing about.
Hmmm… I think I’ll put up with it!!
Ooooo those look so wonderful and warm! I may need to treat myself to a pair 🙂 My sister and I both put hot melt glue on the bottom of our slippers and it works great to make it non-slip. I’ve heard that you can use cloth paint but I have personally never tried that.
Hope that helps -Alyss
Oh Alyss, a hot glue gun is a brilliant idea! Thanks 🙂
Hi, love your lovely everything!
I make slippers too. One way to stop the slipping on floors thing is to put some blobs of fabric ‘puffy paint’ on the outer bottom soles – let dry thoroughly before wearing
