This week Vince’s mum celebrated her birthday. As part of her birthday celebrations we’d bought her some of her favourite candles but I had nothing nice to put them in.
Enter the Purple Patchwork Pouch!
I knew I wanted to sew something akin to a gift bag that would actually last and be reusable. I also have a huge bag of patchwork square groups (like charm packs?) that my mum had cut and grouped years ago and then given to me.
So I came up with this!
It is very simple patchwork that I actually quilted!!! I’ve never done this before and I was just a little bit pleased with myself LOL. I lined the pouch with some ivory satin I had in my stash, added a ribbon loop and a button, et voila!
I loved making this and it has totally given me the sewing bug again! Yesterday I actually made a mini runner/mat for my mantelpiece for the autumn which I love love love! I will show you later this week 🙂
I love creating things be it sewing, crochet or something else 🙂 It makes me incredibly happy and I feel blessed to be able to do so.
Are you creating anything at the moment?
I love my birthday present, yes my favorite candles but the best bit is this pouch, its In my favorite colour and can be used for all manner of things. Thank you so very much, you are so very clover, love you lots. Xxxx
What a beautiful pouch!! I love the deep, rich colours… perfect for autumn! 🙂
This is really pretty! It looks like it would be beyond my beginner sewing skills, I prefer to crochet ;). I’ve been trying to sew a pleated bag but all of the hemming is getting me down 🙁
