I was asked by a friend a little while ago if I could make a hat for her little girl, ready for the colder weather.
She had seen a picture of one she liked so I knew what I was aiming for and I have to say I’m really pleased with the way it came out!
Emma loves it too and keeps sneaking off with it to put it on, so I have a feeling I’ll be making another one this evening!
Would you like some of the more technical details?
It it sized for a 1-2yr old, with a circumference of 18″ but plenty of stretch if needed.
The hat itself is my design (I made it up as I went along!) but the flower pattern is from Very Berry Handmade and can be found here.
The yarn is 100% wool, Drops Alaska. I hadn’t used this before but it’s wonderful to work with and I love it. The shades are 54 – Purple Mix, 40 – Grey Pink, and 50 – Dark Brown Mix. I used the whole ball of Purple and just short lengths of the others.
What do you think?
