It would seem I have lost my voice recently. That is to say, I have been struggling to find my blogging voice.
I did make excuses along the lines of being too busy. Busy at home, busy looking after Emma, busy with the shop/commissions, busy with some design work for a friend…. blah blah blah…
But really it is just every time I have thought to myself – “right lets sit down and write a post!”…. nothing.
I draw a blank.
It has made me step back a little and think about why I am writing this blog and what I really want from it. While I have a definite passion for crochet and I love sharing projects, patterns, and items to purchase… really it is a personal blog. Yet I feel I have lost that a little. I really want this blog to be a place to record memories, like many other bloggers, for myself and my family to look back over and enjoy in years to come. Even, or perhaps especially, the mundane everyday moments.
So I am going to make much more of an effort to blog more of our everyday lives. Oh there will still be crochet… after all it is a big part of my everyday life (ha!)..but also many more moments just captured to be preserved. Absolutely self indulgent but hopefully still interesting and something you will enjoy seeing and reading about!
So here is a little snapshot of my day…
::: A tiny pair of newborn Flower Power Baby Sandals in brown and lilac were shipped off to The Netherlands this morning. I love how global these little sandals have become ๐
::: Emma helping daddy in the garden this morning (read: Vince stopping Emma from eating gravel)
::: Admiring my Lavender thriving in its second year. Looking forward to harvesting the flowers soon ๐ May make a few little ย crochet lavender bags for the shop.
::: My wonderful husband came home from work last night with two beautiful bunches of flowers for me, just because. Today I arranged them on the living room mantel where they make me smile.
::: While trimming the flowers there were a few buds and flower heads that were damaged or too short so I popped them all into a little tiny cream jug. I adore it. Also, I need new candles LOL
::: OK, so I have new socks. I can’t remember the last time I had new socks and it made me obscenely happy to be wearing colourful, stripey new socks. You all know what I mean, right?!…right?..
::: This our living room light fixture. I was looking up with camera in hand and it seemed an interesting shot. I love the old (possibly original?) ceiling decor in our old victorian house coupled with the modern paper lantern.
Now I’m off to give my husband a kiss as he’s just got in from work & then off to bed ๐
See you all soon!
Am loving your revisited focus on life in general. After all isnt family the mist important thing of all! Btw, your light fitting rocks!
