Well summer has finally arrived in the UK!
Yesterday was gloriously sunny and hot here on the SE coast and today looks set to be just as wonderful! It is fantastic!
(Unless you are my ever so pale, ever so red headed husband who wants to move to Alaska right about now!)
Yesterday we were taking it slow and easy, Vince was at work and Emma and I were just pootling around the house & garden.
Here are a few snaps of our Saturday:
::: I took the camera into the garden as my little Hebe bush is flowering beautifully π
::: My courgette plant is starting to flower as well. I have had such pest problems this year so I’m trying this plant in a pot but it’s not very big so I don’t think it will fruit π Happily I can still harvest the flowers π
::: My runner beans have survived being planted in the bed however, and are Β just starting to flower aswell!
::: I was halfway through bringing in my dry washing when I snapped this. That large piece of fabric is a vintage cotton (or cotton/rayon blend, not sure?) given to me by my mum. It dates from the 1940s! I was giving it a prewash as it is going to become a pair of summer pyjamas for Emma π
::: She seemed quite happy to hear this!
::: We spent the rest of the evening playing and snacking on sweet, juicy cherries. I <3 Cherries!
::: I’m very happy summer is here at last! I am even happier that Vince has 2 weeks holiday from today!!!
We are now off for a walk in the woods, then we will be enjoying the Wimbledon men’s final with fresh scones, clotted cream and strawberries π
How are you all enjoying the hot weather?
