At some point I will get into the habit of blogging regularly…..
I am getting so terrible at sitting down to write up posts and yet there are so many things I’ve been meaning to show you!
Over the last few weeks I’ve let crochet take a little bit of a backseat to other hobbies and creative outlets, be it cooking, gardening sewing or even knitting (very slowly…)
So here is some of what I’ve been up to! These are mix of camera and phone snaps so the quality might vary a little…
I upcycled Vince’s old jeans into a little gardening apron for Emma. It is actually only half of one leg minus the worn out hems, opened up, cut to shape and edged with pretty bias binding. I also picked off one of the back pockets and stitched it onto the front and made the neck strap from some excess. Easy, pretty, functional, free. They may just be my favourite words actually 🙂
While I was bitten by the sewing bug I also made Emma a new sunhat (You know… for all that sun we have in the UK… ahem..). It actually turned out really well, I was pretty doubtful at one point. It is only just the right size for her though, so I have a good excuse to make a second from a different pattern 🙂
Oh I just stumbled on this photo and had to share. It make my heart smile 🙂
We went for a trip to Wildwood a few weeks ago, I posted about the last time we visited here. Such a lovely day out and even better now Emma is older. This photo is Vince pointing at me saying “Emma look at mummy!” and I can only assume my little lady is trying to say “Mummy look at the Bison not me!!!”
In the last few days I have picked up my crochet hook again, it never stays idle for very long! I have a craft fair I’ve been invited to attend starting to loom on the horizon so I am experimenting with new items that I think might sell but are also a pleasure to hook up 🙂 I’m also intending to stock up my rather bare online shop, I have rather neglected it recently.
I found a lovely little pattern on pinterest for a little granny pincushion that I have fallen in love with. You can find the free pattern over on Lulu Loves.
I also felt like hooking again after Lucy from Attic24 fame put out the call for granny bunting for yarndale! What a brilliant stash buster! So I’ve been starting on my own little contribution using up my acrylic odds & ends. I so wish I could go up to yarndale it would be the best birthday trip for me LOL but I don’t think our budget or hubby’s work schedule will allow for it this year. Boo.
Ack! Look at the time! I really need to come away from the computer now.
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!
P.S. I promise there is a Flower Power Baby Sandals photo tutorial on its way, the photos have all been taken I just need to sit down and write it up!
