It’s finished!!!
I started this little felt quiet book for Emma not long after I found out I was pregnant. Then I rediscovered crochet and it was kind of pushed to one side for a looong time. But I picked it back up a few weeks ago and now it’s complete.
It worked out well in the end as she is just at the right age to be able to play with/look at it now.
Would you like to see inside?
(Be warned there are quite a few photos now…)
Lion – A padded face with lots of different textured ribbons as a mane.
Fish – Padded fish on a press stud, it spins and can come on and off.
Snake – A textured leather to feel
Butterfly – Wings that flap
Crocodile – Zipper mouth that opens and closes
Sheep – Faux sheep fleece and googly eyes
Owl – Padded wing flap hiding baby owl
So there we are, Emma’s lovingly hand stitched quiet book. I did enjoy doing it but the hand stitching made it too slow really. I don’t think I’ll be making another unless a little brother or sister comes along!

This is SO cute, fresh and well done. Wonderful work, wonderful colors, and the most precious gift to your baby daughter! She will cherish it all her life.
Thank you so much! I hope so 🙂 xx
Well done Nomes, I love all the smiley cute faces, and I did wonder if you would ever get round to finishing it, now you have the crochet bug!! It’s inspiring me to consider finishing a project I’ve had going for quite a while…we’ll see… xxx
I just love this. Not having children myself i just wonder at what age a quite book like this would be appropriate.
Thankyou! I gave this to my daughter when she was 8 months old but I was careful to make sure everything was stitched down well and the detachable fish was big enough not to be a choking hazard. She is 15 months now and still loves it 🙂
How lovely it is! I wish I can make one for my daughter.
