This was originally going to be a crochet post but yesterday we went on an impromptu outing and I thought I’d share it with you.
The weather was so sunny and lovely here I couldn’t bare the thought of us being stuck indoors all day. So after dropping Vince off at work Emma and I stopped of at the beautiful nearby park.
We strolled, explored, admired, sat and played. It was almost perfect, we were just missing daddy. But it was wonderful mummy and baby time!
I have never in all my life seen so many squirrels in one place. They were everywhere and surprisingly tame. Dancing right up to the pushchair and Emma seemed to enjoy watching them dart about. I do suspect they were expecting to be fed!
There was a lovely little duck family in one of the ponds. I could watch ducklings all day they are just adorable and so funny. The little one above kept zooming off on its own and getting very loudly reprimanded by mummy duck, I found it great entertainment for a sunny afternoon!
There were of course other little creatures around, a moorhen or two, plenty of fish and the ever present herring gulls. Emma and I were too distracted by anything with fuzz though.
After strolling about for some time we decided to pull onto the grass and find some dappled shade to sit and play a while. Emma loved this part, taking everything in and not being confined by the pushchair. She is such an inquisitive little girl. However, you would never guess this from the below picture. She has the strongest aversion to my DSLR camera.
Just to prove she was having fun really! These were snapped on my phone which she is much more comfortable with!
We were hoping to go back for a picnic with daddy today as it is his day off. Inevitably, the weather has turned and it has rained all morning… sigh…
On the other hand, we still get to spend the day together as a family and can watch the Wimbledon men’s semi-finals! I do love Wimbledon!
I hope you are all managing to make the most of the sunshine when we have it! Enjoy your weekends!
