It’s been a while since I’ve written about my crochet so I thought I would give a bit of an update.
I have a terrible habit of having multiple projects on the go at one time. My mind is a constantly tangled mess of ideas/designs/potential projects (not all confined to crochet either) so I find I just have to start some of them for fear of a) ideas slipping away, or b) the creative part of my mind exploding with the potential wonderfulness of it all.
So, here’s what I have going on currently (as far as crochet is concerned)…
My gorgeous ‘grace’ yarn is being turned into a japanese flower scarf. I am loving this project and the yarn is soooo yummy to work with, but…. with the weather warming up, albeit s-l-o-w-l-y, my scarf enthusiasm is waning slightly and it has slipped a few places on my list of WiPs.
I had this idea for a new cushion cover using my cotton stash ages ago. I kept putting it off but a couple of weeks back I knew I just had to bring it to life. I wanted something bright and colourful and completely random, I also wanted to use it as a bit of a sampler for different stitches. It is nearly finished now and I’m really rather pleased with how its coming along.
I also started working on a pair of baby booties from a pattern in my new book (a present from Mr.Wade I shall write about another time). However, I only got as far as completing one boot as I found they came up very small and I was quite certain by the time my nephew got them he would of out grown them, also I think they are too warm for the summer really.
Which got me to thinking about about Emma’s footwear, or lack thereof, and how adorable a little pair of summery crochet sandals would be. After some long, hard thought I decided I could come up with my own pattern and gave it a whirl. Having never designed anything myself before I am incredibly proud of what I came up with. I have written the pattern out and successfully tested it, so I will post it up soon for those interested.
At least the sandals are a complete project now and I’ve ticked off something on my list.
That said, I’ve already got at least two ideas in mind that will soon be replacing it!!!
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and Happy Father’s Day for tomorrow!

I love these baby sandals. Just made a pair with a bigger hook, 4mm, 12cm from toe to heel. I’m translating it to Portuguese to add it to my blog http://www.amocroche.com, where I put a link to your blog. I love everything you make and want to keep translating your patterns so that Brazilian crocheters can profit from your good taste, if it’s okay with you. Thanks!
