This weekend has been really lovely. Visits from friends on Friday, family on Saturday and yesterday was Vince’s birthday so he had booked the whole weekend as holiday.
Which made this morning all the more hard, Emma and I did not want to let him leave the house this morning! It has left us both feeling somewhat adrift today, definitely suffering from the Monday blues.
So, what better way to cheer myself up than with some hooky goodness?!
You might remember I showed you the start of a cushion cover in this post. The pictures above are the finished article, or at least the finished front side! Although I made it mainly to use up my acrylic yarn stash, I do love it, the most appealing thing to me about acrylic is the vibrancy of the colour options. How can that much colour fail to bring some cheer into the day?!
Eventually I will get around to sewing the back on it so it can join my cosy crochet corner. For now I’ll just drape it over an old cushion to remind me to get it done!
Currently I am far to preoccupied (in my spare moments!) with my new project. I am working on a baby blanket for a special little boy who is due to make his debut in the near future. He’ll be our first nephew and a cousin of the same age for Emma, I’m very excited naturally! So here is a sneak peak at the work in progress:

Love the colour choice for baby B-G’s blanket, can’t wait to see the finished article.
