slow days

Post image for slow days

The past few days have been particularly slow. My little Emma has been ever so fussy and clingy, we think she must be having a growth spurt. This has also meant that during the day she is wanting to feed every hour and a half and for longer than usual, as I am breast feeding this means spending most of the day sat on the sofa unable to do much else. Usually this would not be a problem(!) but it has coincided with the week I was supposed to be packing up our flat for our house move this weekend.

I have unfortunately achieved next to nothing, but I still have the best part of two days left to get it done, that’s plenty right?! On the up side she is smiling more and more and I can’t get enough of her smiling face! Trying to catch it on camera is proving to be a challenge though! The above photo was quickly snapped on my phone hence the poor quality.

There are, however, a few things I have realised I can do whilst feeding or letting Emma sleep on my lap. Crochet is one of them! On my hook at the moment is a new cushion cover. Our current scatter cushions for the sofa are getting a bit tired looking and I want something more colourful for our new home. I also have a huge stash of acrylic yarn to use up!

The other thing I can manage whilst Emma is feeding is one handed internet browsing. I can spend money on eBay! I have a couple (read list as long as my arm) of big crochet projects in mind and I really wanted to try a new yarn with a high cotton content without spending too much. I had read a few reviews of Rico Design Creative Cotton aran weight and found a great selection on eBay so this week I bought a brand new yarn stash that I can’t wait to dive in to!

Well as my little lady is taking a nap I really ought to try and get on with some packing… don’t you just love moving house!?

Wish my stash would be as big as yours!
