Today our baby girl is one month old. One. Whole. Month.
Can someone please tell me how this happened??
I am quite sure I was only in the hospital giving birth to her a few days ago, but look how big she’s grown!
I debated for a while about writing a ‘birth story’ post, a detailed chronicling of my experience of labour and childbirth. Instead I have decided to just summarise it here very briefly.
From the very start to end I was in labour for the best part of 24 hours. I am fortunate enough to say it was a very straight forward, textbook labour. It hurt. A lot. I used a birthing pool, had entinox and later diamorphine. It all resulted in our incredibly beautiful baby girl. It was the best thing I have ever done.
Emma is a wonderful baby, she rarely cries, she generally sleeps well and she is so alert and curious about the world around her. I can not get enough of her.
Though I can scarcely believe that she is already a month old and time is passing so quickly, I can’t wait to watch her grow and see her personality develop. I’m glad I have this way of recording it all. I hope it is something she will enjoy looking at when she is older.
