I have a new found love for all things crochet.
Growing up I was lucky enough to have a very talented and creative mum who taught me all sorts of crafty things when I was little, crochet was one of them. I hadn’t picked up a crochet hook in years until a few months ago I had the urge and I’m so pleased I did.
During my pregnancy, particularly the later months I found it hard to stay standing for even short lengths of time, this meant I struggled to be in the kitchen and stopped baking. This left a creative hole in my life and crochet was the perfect thing to fill it.
A quick online refresher tutorial and some colourful inspiration later I was well on my way. What better for a first project than a bright, ripply, baby blanket! (Please excuse my mismatched socks!)
It was quick to work up and a relaxing hobby that filled my pregnant days… it is also trying to fill my new mummy days when Emma will let it!
The blog I found the inspiration for the blanket is a wonderful place called Attic 24 and it has fast become one of my favourite websites. It is where I found the pattern and excellent tutorial for the cushion. I love this cushion cover. Adore it in fact.
Once you get used to the rhythm of the pattern it is really simple and looks fantastic! If I do say so myself! It gives me a great feeling of accomplishment and I can’t wait to show you my second blanket!

I love these pictures they show your crochet in its truly glorious colours. I also think your Silent Sunday photo of Emma on the new blanket is gorgeous, did you do something to it?
Thankyou! Yes, I used photoshop to make it look slightly ‘vintage’… I added a grain effect and an edge burn and a few other things. I was just playing around really!
“crochet love” was in fact a extremely pleasant blog, .
Keep authoring and I’m going to keep browsing! Thank you -Arnold
